Too Cool For School products have interesting Spanish related names. “La Ola” means “wave” in Spanish. Ummm, but what does Dinoplatz mean? Platz in Spanish means “place” or “space”. But “dino”? Dinosaur place?? :) Anyway, TCFS are such a good idea! To have all the face things you need in one box! But I actually bought the wrong one :( I wanted to buy the cushion version, not the BB pact. But I decided to keep this one, because I’ve never tried a BB pact before. And I’m glad I kept it :)

Product

The foundation pact is a solid pact, but when it touches the skin it becomes a creamy liquid foundation. The formula is easy to blend and has very good medium coverage. I was surprised, I thought it would dryer and harder to blend. But when you dip the puff in the pact, it absorbs easily and then transfers easily onto the skin. The foundation gives a glowing finish and feels hydrating on the skin. This would be a lovely formula for autumn/winter. The foundation is a yellow toned beige and leans a little grey once the face.

The highlighter in the box was also a nice surprise. The product is the slippy type of formula. Not creamy. I thought it would hardly show up on the skin or create an obvious cast of shimmer. But instead it was easy to blend and blended well to create a natural glow.

The concealer is dryer than the pact, but the thicker and dryer formula gives it more covering power. And when used with the foundation isn’t too dry. The concealer does lean orange, but again I found it ok to use with the foundation. The foundation itself good coverage already, so you don’t need much of the concealer, hence a little under the foundation you can’t really tell the orange tone so much.

The cheek & lip formula has a slippery consistency, similar to the highlighter. This makes it uncomfortable on the lips. It doesn’t sit well or . But on the cheeks it blends beautifully. The shade gives a very flattering flush on the cheeks.

Packaging

Genius! Whoever designed this, should get an award! It is so convenient to have all four products in a compact pretty much the same size as a cushion foundation. The swinging highlight/concealer/cheek palette makes it easy to use with the mirror. If it was double decked, you wouldn’t be able to see the mirror when you lift up one layer to use the other layer. But having it swing out, you can use all four at the same time, together with the mirror. So smart!

The only design gripe I have is the lid covering the foundation doesn’t open to a full 180 degrees flat. Sometimes when I open it I push it too far and the foundation cartridge easily pops out of the case. One time it popped out and actually fell into the palette below.

The foundation pact is refillable. But I’m not sure about the highlighter/concealer/cheek palette. I don’t think that it refillable. But in general the foundation is the one that is used the most quickly.

The other thing I thought would be nice is if they puff was a little thicker. It’s a really thin puff, which isn’t as good at blending as the puffier puffs that give more bounce, particularly with a thick creamy pact formula.

The box the compact came in should also get a mention. Check out the fold out the waves that fold out when you open the top of the cardboard box! :)

What I Think

This was a surprising like for me. Like I said at the beginning, I actually bought the wrong one by accident, but kept it out of curiosity. And it turned out to be a really great product! I’m so glad I kept it. The foundation is so creamy and blendable. It gives a lovely glowing finish, which I prefer in foundations. It was also a good surprise that I liked all four products in the compact. There isn’t one that ruins it for me. And the fact that it is four products in one makes it great for the handbag. It means I can carry just this and a lip product. Much lighter load! Can’t wait till autumn/winter. Definitely a handbag staple :)

Happy Shopping Everyone! :)

  1. […] tail! Even if I had hated the other TCFS products I’ve tried (which I don’t, I really like the La Ola Multibox), I would probably still try this just for the twisty tail :) So is this mascara all gimmick?? […]
