So last year some time I stumbled across this brand on social media. It seemed like all the rage at the time. I was like “What is this?! If this makeup artist works with Korean celebrities and K stars use this stuff, I want to try it!!” Yep, it was one of those moments. I did a little research and it seems Musee Neuf is a brand from a popular makeup artist in Korea.
However, to my dismay I couldn’t find somewhere to buy it, because it’s a beauty salon/artist brand, it wasn’t stocked in any online department store. But I finally found it at LotteiMall.com! Though sadly it was sold out when I found it in the store… :( Anyway, this year I found it back in stock. And now like 6 months after I fist heard about this, I can finally try it! The set I bought has over 10,000 reviews on the stores website, with over 95 points. This doesn’t count all the other good reviews for the sets with slightly different combinations of these products, which also have over 10,000 reviews each. So, hopefully these products will be good!
The set has the 3D Contour Palette, two 3D Corrector Pacts (case with product inside) and two refills. So that’s a total of two correction pact cases and four pact refills. Plus I received the Rouge Balm as a gift with purchase.
Here’s a quick look at everything :)
3D Correction Pact
This is basically a BB pact. From my playing around with this pact so far, it’s not very oily and doesn’t seem very creamy. And it doesn’t melt easily with the heat from my fingers. Hopefully it goes onto the puff well, is easy to blend on the skin and isn’t dry on the skin. From swatching, the pact seemed very pigmented and coverage seems like it will be good. The case is very chic and elegant, but it will get fingerprints on it easily and probably scratch easily as well.
3D Contour Palette
This contour palette has three shades. I’m not really sure where I would use the darkest shade…From the brochure pictures, it doesn’t seem any of the models used the darkest shade. But the brochure calls is it a “shading and eyebrow” shade. So I guess I could try on the eyebrow… A concerning thing, after looking at the model pics, is the highlight making the models look like ghosts… Umm… I don’t want to look like that. Hopefully that’s just the result of an overly enthusiastic makeup artist…
From my playing with the palette, all three creams are very creamy and melt well with heat, which make them easy and smooth to blend. The brush is a little small, but the flat side is a good shape for the highlight, while the angled side is good for the darker contour shades.
This was a gift with purchase. There were three shades from which they randomly chose one to go with your purchase. I’m really glad I received this shade. It’s a shade I would buy myself if I was buying this lipstick.
Anyway, that’s it for this post. Just a quick look at the products as I haven’t really tried them out yet. Hopefully I’ll be able to come back and update with some more thoughts on the products :)
Happy Shopping Everyone! :)
