Benefit Dandelion Brightening Finishing Powder (aka the Dandelion Box-O-Powder) was the first Benefit product I ever owned. And I loved it! The scent, the shade and the way it brightened my face. I still have it, though I don’t know whether it’s usable after so many years! So I was so excited when I heard they were releasing more products in the Dandelion range with the Dandelion Shy beam liquid highlighter and Dandelion Dew liquid blush. I know they’ve already been released in the USA, but was so excited to find the Dandelion Dew liquid blush online in Korea when I was shopping at CJmall.com! Anyway, here are some pics and some quick thoughts on the Dandelion Dew liquid blush!
The blush is a creamy liquid formula that feels really light and leans towards feeling a little like a mousse. The formula has a satin powder finish. And as you can see from the swatches, pigmentation is very good. A little goes a long way and lasts pretty much the whole day on my skin. And I like that the shade doesn’t change through out the day on my oily skin. I apply it with fingers and the formula is very smooth and easy to blend.
The shade is a cool baby pink shade, leaning a bit mauve. Not very similar to the Dandelion powder. But on the cheeks, it does create a very nice flush that looks very natural.
The product comes in a plastic pump pack tube that is green like the original Dandelion powder and is shaped like a dandelion if you look from the top. The packaging looks interesting and is full of character, like all Benefit products. But I actually don’t like using a pump for this product. Although the pump makes it more hygienic, it’s difficult to control the amount of product that comes out of the pump. What comes out when you push the pump is WAY more product that you need. A tiny amount of this product does the job each time. So it’s a real strain to try and control the pump when you dispense the product. Mmm.. maybe they could have made it a cream blush instead, or make the pump a bit more touch sensitive.
Size wise, the bottle is 30ml. Which is quite large for a blush and makes it better value for the US$28 or KRW 39,000.
Overall, besides the inconvenience of the pump, I really like this blush. It’s a beautiful shade that blends well and looks very natural. *thumbs up!*
Happy Shopping Everyone! :)
